Belt of Truth!
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for all that He is to us, and for His mercies that are new every morning. Indeed, great is His faithfulness. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 6 to put on the whole armor of God, so that “you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].” Ephesians 6v13. The next verse goes on to say:
Primary Text: Ephesians 6:14
“Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth…” Ephesians 6v14 (KJV)
“Stand therefore [hold your ground], having tightened the belt of truth around your loins…” Ephesians 6v14 (AMP)
“So stand strong, with the belt of truth tied around your waist …” Ephesians 6v14 (NCV)
The Dakes concordance notes that “(Gr). Zoma. The girdle – for the loins to brace the armour tight against the body, and support daggars, swords and other weapons.” What is truth? “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by Me” John 14v6 (KJV). Jesus is the truth, and without Him, we can do nothing (John 15v5). We also know that the Bible tells us that “Sanctify them [purify, consecrate, separate them for Yourself, make them holy] by the Truth; Your Word is Truth.” John 17v17 (AMP). When the evil day comes – you put on Jesus. “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe” (Proverbs 18v10). Having done all to stand, stand thereof, girding your loins with the belt of truth. One wonderful truth is that “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3v16). Thank God for the belt of truth!
Supplementary Text:
“But clothe yourself with the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah), and make no provision for [indulging] the flesh [put a stop to thinking about the evil cravings of your physical nature] to [gratify its] desires (lusts).” Romans 13v14 (AMP)
“But when the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) comes, Whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth Who comes (proceeds) from the Father, He [Himself] will testify regarding Me.” John 15v26 (AMP)
“But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future].” John 16v13 (AMP)
Prayer
Father, we thank You for Your Word, in Jesus name, amen. Father, we stand in the liberty that Christ has won for us, and now we put on the belt of truth. We put on the Lord Jesus Christ. I declare that I have been crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ liveth in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me. I pray, that the Spirit of God will guide us into all truth, and show us things to come, and that Father, You will sanctify us, purify us, consecrate us and separate us for Yourself, through Your truth, Thy Word is Truth. All this I pray in the name of Jesus, amen.
