A Matter of the Heart!

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for He is our God. I think it is sometimes good as the Psalmist did to say to the Lord – “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting” (Psalm 139v23-24). The Bible says in Malachi 3v1-3:

Primary Text: Malachi 3:1-3
“Look! I am sending My messenger, and he will prepare the way before Me. Then the Lord you are seeking will suddenly come to His Temple. The Messenger of the covenant, whom you look for so eagerly, is surely coming,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies. “But who will be able to endure it when He comes? Who will be able to stand and face Him when He appears? For He will be like a blazing fire that refines metal, or like a strong soap that bleaches clothes. He will sit like a refiner of silver, burning away the dross. He will purify the Levites, refining them like gold and silver, so that they may once again offer acceptable sacrifices to the LORD.” Malachi 3v1-3 (NLT)

We have been made priests and kings unto God and His Father, by our Lord Jesus Christ (Revelations 1v6). Indeed, “… ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;” (1 Peter 2v9). Here, in Malachi 3v3, the Bible talks of the messenger of the LORD of Heaven’s armies sitting as a refiner of silver, burning away the dross. That He will purify the Levites, refining them like gold and silver, so that they may once again offer acceptable sacrifices to the LORD. We know too that the Lord loved us, and gave Himself for us, taking away our sins. And that also, “For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren” (Romans 8v29). “And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit” 2 Corinthians 3v18 (AMP). Today’s encouragement is just for us to invite the Lord to increase and let us decrease, for Him to purge us thoroughly, and sit as a refiner and purifier of silver and glorify Himself in our lives.

Supplementary Text:
“SEE WHAT [an incredible] quality of love the Father has given (shown, bestowed on) us, that we should [be permitted to] be named and called and counted the children of God! And so we are! The reason that the world does not know (recognize, acknowledge) us is that it does not know (recognize, acknowledge) Him. Beloved, we are [even here and] now God’s children; it is not yet disclosed (made clear) what we shall be [hereafter], but we know that when He comes and is manifested, we shall [as God’s children] resemble and be like Him, for we shall see Him just as He [really] is. And everyone who has this hope [resting] on Him cleanses (purifies) himself just as He is pure (chaste, undefiled, guiltless).” 1 John 3v1-3 (AMP)

“Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her, So that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the Word, That He might present the church to Himself in glorious splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such things [that she might be holy and faultless].” Ephesians 5v25-27 (AMP)

Prayer
Father, we thank You for Your Word this day. We thank You because we have been predestinated to be conformed to the image of the Lord Jesus Christ. Lord, You are our Savior and Lord over our lives. We thank You for the Lord, who is the Spirit, who is changing us into that same image, even from glory to glory. We are inviting You Lord to take us deeper. To probe deeper into our lives o God, to go into those areas which we have not let You touch, and we say Lord have Your way. Purify us, sanctify us wholly, in our spirits, souls and bodies, purge us o God, and glorify Yourself in our lives. We lift up the body of Christ to You and ask that You would do a deep work in Your church, that You would purge us of false doctrines, and anything that is not of You. Lord, sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and cleanse Your church, that we may be blameless and holy, without spot or wrinkle, and we may offer up offerings in righteousness, to the glory of Your name, in Jesus name, amen.
