On the Lookout for One Another
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for the power of prayer and how we can stand in the place of prayer for others. The Bible tells us that:
Primary Text: Ephesians 6:18
“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;” Ephesians 6v18 (KJV)
“Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prater and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated people.” Ephesians 6v18 (AMP)
“Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.” Ephesians 6v18 (NLT)
“In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.” Ephesians 6v18 (MSG)
“Pray in the Spirit at all times with all kinds of prayers, asking for everything you need. To do this you must always be ready and never give up. Always pray for all God’s people.” Ephesians 6v18 (NCV)
Beloved, we are in a race, and we are in a battle. While we each fight our battles, we have to be on the lookout for one another and pray for one another. I am reminded of when Peter was thrown into prison and prayers were made for him without ceasing (Acts 12v5). We are told to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6v2). Jesus is our High Priest, and He makes intercession for us (Hebrews 7v25-26), while on earth, He told Peter “… Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren” (Luke 22v31-32). Let us stand in the gap for each other that our faith will not fail.
Supplementary Text:
“Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.” Galatians 6v1-3 (NLT)
“Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour. Withstand him; be firm in faith [against his onset -- rooted, established, strong, immovable, and determined], knowing that the same (identical) sufferings are appointed to your brotherhood (the whole body of Christians) throughout the world. And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace [Who imparts all blessing and favor], Who has called you to His [own] eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself complete and make you what you ought to be, establish and ground you securely, and strengthen, and settle you.” 1 Peter 5v8-10 (AMP)
“I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;” 2 Timothy 1v3 (KJV)
Prayer
Father, I thank You so much for Your Word. I thank You for the access we have to the throne room of God, and the ability to be able to pray about anything and everything. I thank You for my brothers and sisters, even for the body of Christ, and ask that You strengthen, encourage and keep Your church in Jesus name, amen.
