The Gospel of Peace!

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for the armor of God. The part of the armor to put on our feet so that “you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place]”(Ephesians 6v13, AMP), is called the gospel of peace.

Primary Text: Ephesians 6:15
“And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;” Ephesians 6v15 (KJV)

“And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace,” Ephesians 6v15 (AMP)

“On your feet wear the Good News of peace to help you stand strong.” Ephesians 6v15 (NCV)

I wonder why the Gospel is usually associated with the feet. But, what we wear on our feet is very important. On the one hand, if we are bare feet, and have to walk for a while, particularly on bad ground, we can get hurt. Also, if we wear shoes that are too tight, or too high heels (for the ladies), we can get uncomfortable, and bruise our feet. And so, to go on a journey, we need the right shoes. The kind of shoes that can endure whatever may come our way. Our armor for the feet is the gospel of peace, by this we stand strong, unmoveable. I am reminded of Paul who said, “When I first came to you, dear brothers and sisters, I didn’t use lofty words and impressive wisdom to tell you God’s secret plan. For I decided that while I was with you I would forget everything except Jesus Christ, the One who was crucified” (1 Corinthians 2v1-2). I remember too Jesus likening those who heard His sayings, and did them to a wise man… There is power in the Word of God, and in the Gospel of Christ, it is the power of God unto salvation. Put it on!

Supplementary Text:
“For I am not ashamed of the Gospel (good news) of Christ, for it is God’s power working unto salvation [for deliverance from eternal death] to everyone who believes with a personal trust and a confident surrender and firm reliance, to the Jew first and also to the Greek, For in the Gospel a righteousness which God ascribes is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith [disclosed through the way of faith that arouses more to faith]. As it is written, The man who through faith is just and upright shall live and shall live by faith.” Romans 1v16-17 (AMP)

“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!” Isaiah 52v7 (KJV)

“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.” Matthew 7v24-27 (KJV)

“But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats. Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it. But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ.” 1 Peter 3v14-16 (NLT).

Prayer

Confirm Your Word o God with signs and wonders following even as we preach the gospel of peace.
