Afflicted – Pray

Hello everybody,

How are you doing? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for He is awesome. He is our Father, our God, His eyes are upon us, His ears are attentive to our cry, He cares for us, He loves us. He is wonderful. The Bible says:

Primary Text:
“Is anyone among you afflicted (ill-treated, suffering evil)? He should pray….” James 5v13 (AMP)

Affliction could mean “a state of pain, distress, or grief; misery… a cause of mental or bodily pain, as sickness, loss, calamity, or persecution” (www.dictionary.com). If you are being afflicted, the Word of God says you should pray. The children of Israel for example were being afflicted when they were in Egypt. Job 36v15 (AMP) tells us that “He delivers the afflicted in their affliction and opens their ears [to His voice] in adversity.” Psalm 22v24 says “For He has not despised or abhorred the affliction of the afflicted neither has He hidden His face from him, but when he cried to Him, He heard.” Are you suffering any kind of affliction – big, small, pray unto God. He will hear you. Even as we carry out the work of God, we may suffer affliction, as the Apostle Paul writes – “For when we arrived in Macedonia, our bodies had no ease or rest, but we were oppressed in every way and afflicted at every turn -- fighting and contention without, dread and fears within [us].” (2 Corinthians 7v5). In fact, Psalm 34v19 tells us “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him from them all.” But regardless of the source of the affliction, we can always pray. If you are suffering affliction because you have wandered away from God, or do not even have a relationship with Him, pray. God is merciful.

Supplementary Text:
“And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of My people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey;…” Exodus 3v7-8 (KJV)

Are you in a state of pain, distress, or grief or misery? Pray!!!
