Peace (4)

Hello everyone,

How are you today? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“… May grace (spiritual blessing) and peace be given you in increasing abundance [that spiritual peace to be realized in and through Christ, freedom from fears, agitating passions, and moral conflicts].” 1 Peter 1v2 (AMP)

God’s peace also replaces moral conflicts. It feels good to make a “right” decision, for sometimes there are conflicts as to is this right, wrong, should I, should I not, society says this, people think this, what shall I do? Abraham for instance faced a moral conflict when his wife asked him to send away Hagar and Ishmael (Genesis 21v8-13). Joseph faced a moral conflict when his wife Mary was found to be with child, and he pondered about putting her away (Matthew 1v18-21). Psalm 3v5-6 (AMP) says “Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.” Philippians 4v6 encourages us not to be anxious, but to pray. When we know what God says about a matter, when we pray to Him and let Him direct us, there is a peace about it, there is a freedom from moral conflicts. Joseph could have faced a moral conflict when Potiphar’s wife kept coming after him to lay with her, but he knew it would be sinning against God (Genesis 39v6-9). Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego knew not to bow to any other but God (Daniel 3). We can always trust God to lead us in the right path, and bring peace to any conflicting situation.

Supplementary Text
“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice – the kind He will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12v1-2 (NLT).

Having a moral conflict – why don’t you pray about it.
