Begotten

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to His abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope ...” 1 Peter 1v3 (KJV)

Nicodemus, a Pharisee came to Jesus at night, and in the course of the conversation Jesus said to him, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3v3). Of course, Nicodemus wondered, what does it mean to be born again. He said “How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?” (John 3v3-4). As believers, we have been begotten unto a lively hope. We have been born again – as “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” (John 3v5-6). Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, and the first begotten from the dead (John 3v16, Revelations 1v5); however, we have also been begotten unto a lively hope because of the resurrection of Jesus from the death. We have been born “To an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,” (1 Peter 1v4). When we are born again, we become new creatures, old things are passed away, and behold, all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5v17). Praise be to God.

Supplementary Text
“And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you.” Romans 8v10-11 (KJV)

Father, we thank You so much for everything. Thank You for the new birth and how we have been born unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. We are indeed grateful and give You all the glory for this in Jesus name, amen.
