Take it Up!!!

Hello everyone,

How are you today? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me. Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah. But Thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.” Psalm 3v1-3 (KJV)

The thief comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and life more abundantly (John 10v10). One of the things that can be stolen, killed or destroyed is our joy. In the place of joy, discouragement, sorrow, unhappiness, discontentment might want to set in. But the fruit of the Spirit includes joy, and we are told to rejoice evermore (Galatians 5v22, 1 Thessalonians 5v16). When troubles seem to abound all around (like David who was constantly being chased by Saul); or our dreams do not seem to be realized (like Joseph in the Potiphar’s house); or we hear terrible news (like the Israelites when Haman got a decree for their annihilation); or we are faced with a tough call (like Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane), one thing we can do is to look to God. Pray and begin to remember the right hand of the Lord (Psalm 77v10). Rejoice in the salvation that we have. Rejoice in that “our present troubles are small and won’t last long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!” (2 Corinthians 4v17, NLT). Haaaaaaallllllllllllelujah. Rejoice in the fact that we can pour out our heart to God – He understands, and He cares, and He is a refuge for us. We can say “Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God” (Psalm 43v5, NIV). This year, determine not to complain again, even when you don’t understand what is happening. Determine to not let your joy be stolen. Take your praise up. “Let all those that seek Thee rejoice and be glad in Thee: let such as love Thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified” (Psalm 40v16).

Supplementary Text
“But let all those who take refuge and put their trust in You rejoice; let them ever sing and shout for joy, because You make a covering over them and defend them; let those also who love Your name be joyful in You and be in high spirits.” Psalm 5v11 (AMP)

The Lord be magnified!!!
