My sustenance
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and
bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the
weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently]
righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail).” Psalm 55v22 (AMP)
I thank God for inviting us to give Him our
burdens. I realize that it’s not that the trouble or situation you are in will
necessarily vanish away – see for example Job’s trial, Abraham and Sarah’s
waiting period, the three Hebrew children in the fire, Daniel in the lion’s den
– but in the process of it He will SUSTAIN you through it. To sustain means “to
support, hold, or bear up from below; bear the weight of, … to keep (a person, the mind, the
spirits, etc.) from giving way, as under trial or affliction. Again, we are
promised as children of God with right standing with Him, regardless of what
you are going through, once you give it to Him, He will never allow you to
slip, fall, or fail…. Regardless of how that situation might be looking – He’s
got it under control. Besides these, He also gives you peace through the
situation, because He says “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about
everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank Him for His answers.
If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful
than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your
hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4v6-7,
TLB). Hallelujah. Give it to the Lord, and enjoy the remarkable blessings of
His peace and sustenance, remembering that He will not allow you to slip, fall
or fail. Finally, know too that in the midst of worrisome situations, there is
a working on our faith, and on our patience to bring us to a place of maturity
in Him.
Supplementary Text
“Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come
your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your
faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when
your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing
nothing.” James 1v2-4 (TLB)
Prayer
Why don’t you talk to the Lord about it?
