The storm before deliverance

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“And the same day, when the even was come, He saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took Him even as He was in the ship. And there were also with Him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And He was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake Him, and say unto Him, Master, carest Thou not that we perish? And He arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And He said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?” Mark 4v35-41 (KJV)

Sometimes before the end of a trial, or at the edge of a great deliverance, things might seem to get very bad. Seen above, we find our Lord Jesus telling His disciples, let us pass over to the other side. We see at the beginning of Mark 5 that a man who had an unclean spirit was delivered by the Lord Jesus, and through his testimony, many gathered about Jesus. Now, one might ponder, was it because of this man that the storms arose, or was it in direct opposition to the Word of the Lord – Let us pass over to the other side - that the storms arose, perhaps? We see a similar situation when God sent Moses to deliver the children of Israel from Egypt, unfortunately, things seemed to get worse than better. But our God rules and reigns in the affairs of men. A lady calls these storms the kicks of a dying horse! Beloved, it doesn’t matter what storms are raising their head at the Word of God in your life, or your expectation from Him, He is on the throne and He is in the boat of your life. Peace be still, don’t be fearful!
