Responsibility to Heed
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and
bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers
only, deceiving your own selves.” James 1v22 (KJV)
Beloved, while there is the responsibility for
watchmen to speak the truth, we also have the responsibility to heed to
instruction, warning, counsel and the Word of God. Not everyone takes well to
counsel, some even despise the vessel that it comes through. Proverbs 15v5 (AMP)
tells us that “A fool despises his father’s instruction and correction, but he
who regards reproof acquires prudence.” In Ezekiel 33v14-16 (KJV) the Word says
“Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his
sin, and do that which is lawful and right; If the wicked restore the pledge,
give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing
iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die. None of his sins that he hath
committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and
right; he shall surely live.” We find that as individuals we have a
responsibility to respond to the Word of the Lord. For example, if the wicked
is told of his wicked ways and he turns from it, he will be saved. Beloved, do
you heed the Word of God? Do you heed to corrections? Are you repentant?
Proverbs 29v2 (TLB) says “The man who is often reproved but refuses to accept
criticism will suddenly be broken and never have another chance.”
Supplementary Text
“And ye have forgotten the exhortation which
speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of
the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of Him: For whom the Lord loveth He
chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom He receiveth. If ye endure chastening,
God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth
not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye
bastards, and not sons.” Hebrews 12v5-8 (KJV)
Prayer
My Father and my God, I thank You for Your Word.
Father, the grace to respond positively to Your instructions, please grant unto
me in Jesus name, amen.
