Sounds right, right?
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and
bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“The serpent was the craftiest of all the
creatures the Lord God had made. So the serpent came to the woman. “Really?” he
asked. “None of the fruit in the garden? God says you mustn’t eat any of it?”
“Of course we may eat it,” the woman told him. “It’s only the fruit from the
tree at the center of the garden that we are not to eat. God says we musn’t eat
it or even touch it, or we will die.” “That’s a lie! the serpent hissed.
“You’ll not die! God knows very well that the instant you eat it you will
become like Him, for your eyes will be opened – you will be able to distinguish
good and evil!” Genesis 3v1-5 (TLB)
As believers, it is important to know what the
Word of God says. In the Scripture above, the devil came to Eve and deceived
her. There are many things that are being said today or even arguments we might
be having with ourselves which have the appearance of godliness and wisdom, but
do not align with the Word of God. A lot of – really, God said that! Or, are
you sure God meant it like that? Or, surely the consequences are not as bad as
they are being presented! The Bible tells of the Berean Jews that “Now the
Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they
received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day
to see if what Paul said was true.” (Acts 17v11, NIV). Beloved, are you going
back to check if what is being said to you is true? The devil also came to the
Lord Jesus, but each time, our Lord will reply Him with the Word of God. Beloved,
how will you be able to contend with the devil and every form of knowledge and
philosophies out there if you do not know what is written?
Supplementary Text
“And the devil said unto Him, If thou be the Son
of God, command this stone that it be made bread. And Jesus answered him,
saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every
word of God.” Luke 4v3-4 (KJV)
Prayer
Father, I thank You for Your Word. Help me to
study and know Your Word in Jesus name, amen.
