Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Dearly beloved, it is not enough for you to just have faith in Jesus and accept Him as Lord and Saviour, it is extremely important that you continue to hold on to that faith until the end.
Primary Text: Colossians 1v21-23
“And you, that were sometimes alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath He reconciled In the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in His sight: If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; ” Colossians 1v21-23 (KJV)
“At one time you were separated from God. You were His enemies in your minds, and the evil things you did were against God. But now God has made you His friends again. He did this through Christ’s death in the body so that He might bring you into God’s presence as people who are holy, with no wrong, and with nothing of which God can judge you guilty. This will happen if you continue strong and sure in your faith. You must not be moved from the hope brought to you by the Good News that you heard. That same Good News has been told to everyone in the world, and I, Paul, help in preaching that Good News.” Colossians 1v21-23 (NCV)
“And although you at one time were estranged and alienated from Him and were of hostile attitude of mind in your wicked activities, Yet now has [Christ, the Messiah] reconciled [you to God] in the body of His flesh through death, in order to present you holy and faultless and irreproachable in His [the Father’s] presence. [And this He will do] provided that you continue to stay with and in the faith [in Christ], well-grounded and settled and steadfast, not shifting or moving away from the hope [which rests on and is inspired by] the glad tidings (the Gospel), which you heard and which has been preach [as being designed for and offered without restrictions] to every person under heaven, and of which [Gospel] I, Paul, became a minister.” Colossians 1v21-23 (AMP)
Imagine a scenario where a man proposes to a lady, and she accepts. In that case she believes him, loves him, and they are to be married. He then goes away to prepare a place for her so that she can be with him forever. He leaves her with this assurance and all that she needs to survive, and also a helper who knows him very well. In the course of time however, different things happen, and its like, when is he coming back, but she keeps on keeping on. Eventually she has two choices, to continue to be confident that he will keep his word, based on what she knows about him, and what his helper continues to tell her, or turn away and choose to marry someone else.
Prayer
Father, I thank You for Your Word. Help me to keep my faith in You, and not shift away from the hope which I have found in Jesus, in Jesus name, amen.
