Love

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. There is “love” the way the world sees and defines it, which could be quite twisted, and there is “love” God’s way. In fact, we know that God is love, and anyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God. He that does not love, does not know God for God is love (1 John 4v7-8)

Primary Text: Colossians 3:14
“And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.” Colossians 3v14 (KJV)

“And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” Colossians 3v14 (NIV)

“And above all these [put on] love and enfold yourselves with the bond of perfectness [which binds everything together completely in ideal harmony].” Colossians 3v14 (AMP)

“Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.” Colossians 3v14 (NLT)

So what is love? 1 Corinthians 13 gives us a good glimpse of what love is. But you may say, well I really cannot be this, it’s too hard. But the beautiful thing is that God’s love is shed abroad in our hearts by His Spirit, so we have the power to love. Yield to God’s Spirit and you will be able to walk in love.

Supplementary Texts
“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever!” 1 Corinthians 13v4-8 (NLT)

“If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him?” Luke 11v13 (KJV)

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5v22-23

“Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shames us, for God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to us.” Romans 5v5 (AMP)
