Beware of Stolen Waters!

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Are you partaking of stolen waters today? Are you doing things that you know you shouldn’t but afterall who would know? Afterall God understands and He will forgive me, when I ask for forgiveness? Are you indulging yourself here and there, a compromise here and there? Just a teeny weeny bit? Please stop. If God says something is not good, then don’t do it. Trust Him on it, it really isn’t good. Don’t go stealing to do it. Remember Adam and Eve and how they ate the forbidden fruit, and the repercussions afterwards. Our acts may be in secret, but the consequences can affect a whole lot of people. Even our good acts like praying for in secret, that God rewards openly.

Primary Text:
“If you are wise, you are wise for yourself; if you scorn, you alone will bear it and pay the penalty. The foolish woman is noisy; she is simple and open to all forms of evil, she [willfully and recklessly] knows nothing whatever of [eternal value]. For she sits at the door of her house or on a seat in the conspicuous places of the town, Calling to those who pass by, who go uprightly on their way: Whoever is simple (wavering and easily led astray), let him turn in here! And as for him who lacks understanding, she says to him, Stolen waters (pleasures) are sweet [because they are forbidden]; and bread eaten in secret is pleasant. But he knows not that the shades of the dead are there [specters haunting the scene of past transgressions], and that her invited guests are [already sunk] in the depths of Sheol (the lower world, Hades, the place of the dead).” Proverbs 19v12-18 (AMP)

“If you become wise, you will be the one to benefit. If you scorn wisdom, you will be the one to suffer. The woman named Folly is brash. She is ignorant and doesn’t know it. She sits in her doorway on the heights overlooking the city. She calls out to men going by who are minding their own business. “Come in with me,” she urges the simple. To those who lack good judgment, she says, “Stolen water is refreshing; food eaten in secret tastes the best!” But little do they know that the dead are there. Her guests are in the depths of the grave.” Proverbs 19v12-18 (NLT)

Beloved, the Bible says “Let him that thinketh he standeth, take heed lest he falls.” And “Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?” (Proverbs 6v27). Be careful, beware of stolen waters- stolen pleasures. “All things are lawful unto me, but all things do not edify” said Paul. It’s not just a little sin, at the end of the day. The devil is a deceitful devil, and he may come with enticing words and things to justify your actions. But is what you are doing pure? Is it of good report? Is it virtuous? Is it praise worthy? Is it lovely? Fornication and adultery do not work in the kingdom of God! Flee. In fact, we are encouraged that it should not be once mentioned amongst us. Don’t give the devil a foothold. Flee all appearance of evil, and the good Lord continue to give you the ways of escape in Jesus name, amen.

Supplementary Text:
“So kill (deaden, deprive of power) the evil desire lurking in your members [those animal impulses and all that is earthly in you that is employed in sin]: sexual vice, impurity, sensual appetites, unholy desires, and all greed and covetousness, for that is idolatry (the deifying of self and other created things instead of God).” Colossians 3v5 (AMP)

“So what should we do? Should we sin because we are under grace and not under law? No! Surely you know that when you give yourselves like slaves to obey someone, then you are really slaves of that person. The person you obey is your master. You can follow sin, which brings spiritual death, or you can obey God, which makes you right with Him. In the past you were slaves to sin- sin controlled you. But thank God, you fully obeyed the things that you were taught. You were made free from sin, and now you are slaves to goodness. I use this example because this is hard for you to understand. In the past you offered the parts of your body to be slaves to sin and evil; you lived only for evil. In the same way now you must give yourselves to be slaves of goodness. Then you will live only for God.” Romans 6v15-19 (NCV)

Prayer
Father, I yield my members to you, to be slaves to righteousness. I’m sorry for anyway I have yielded to sin. I thank You for You have given me the power to be Your child, and through Your Spirit I can put to death the deeds of the flesh. Thank You so much for Your goodness and Your grace, in Jesus name, amen.
~ if you are especially struggling with one sin or the other, call unto God and He will help you. As a believer, you have His Spirit on the inside of you, and the Greater One on the inside of you. Repent, submit yourself to God and let Him help you…
