Not Seen!

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. There are many things that we see today, both in our personal lives and in the world around us. Trials, troubles, happiness, joy, uprisings, earthquakes, … But there are many more things that are not seen. For example, before Haman proposed to annihilate the Jews in Shushan (Esther 3v8), the Lord had already put Esther in place, giving her an uncle like Mordecai whom she obeyed and respected (Esther 2). Before the famine hit, God gave a dream to Pharaoh, gave Joseph the interpretation, and had him promoted to prime minister (Genesis 41). Before the world began, God had chosen Jesus to be our ransom (1 Peter 1v20). Hallelujah! God is in charge and in control, regardless of what you are seeing, trust Him, and encourage others to do the same.

Primary Text: 2 Corinthians 4v17&18
“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4v17&18 (KJV)

“For our light, momentary affliction (this slight distress of the passing hour) is ever more and more abundantly preparing and producing and achieving for us an everlasting weight of glory [beyond all measure, excessively surpassing all comparisons and all calculations, a vast and transcendent glory and blessedness never to cease!] Since we consider and look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting), but the things that are invisible are deathless and everlasting.” 2 Corinthians 4v17-18 (AMP)

“We have small troubles for a while now, but they are helping us gain an eternal glory that is much greater than the troubles. We set our eyes not on what we see but on what we cannot see. What we see will last only a short time, but what we cannot see will last forever.” 2 Corinthians 4v17-18 (NCV)

Focus on the unseen. Ask the Lord to open your eyes to know what exactly is happening. For example, our words are not seen, yet the Bible tells us life and death are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18v21). So also are our prayers not seen, but they go a long way to affect what is seen. When you focus on that which is seen, you may be discouraged. But remember, we walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5v7). Continue to express your faith, in words said in prayer, in praise, giving glory to God, knowing that God sees and hears you (1 Peter 3v12).

Supplementary Text:
“And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do? And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray Thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.” 2 Kings 6v15-17

“IF THEN you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, thus sharing His resurrection from the dead], aim at and seek the [rich, eternal treasures] that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. And set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth. For [as far as this world is concerned] you have died, and your [new, real] life is hidden in Christ in God.” Colossians 3v1-3 (AMP)

Prayer
Father, I thank You for Your Word. Open my eyes that I may see beyond the physical in Jesus name, amen.
