Fellowship with One Another.
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for the fellowship we have with the brethren.
Primary Text: 1 John 1v3
“That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.” 1 John 1v3 (KJV)
“What we have seen and [ourselves] heard, we are also telling you, so that you too may realize and enjoy fellowship as partners and partakers with us. And [this] fellowship that we have [which is a distinguishing mark of Christians] is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ (the Messiah).” 1 John 1v3 (AMP)
Now the love we have one for another is an indication to others that we are the disciples of Jesus. Think of your own lives and the people you commune with/are in fellowship with as believers, some may be so different from you – in the manner of nationality, language, career, age – and yet there is a bond. Still, there are those who can be similar to you in all these areas, and you are not so close to them. But its always beautiful when you are of the same mind, Spirit, love, serving the Lord Jesus, and you come together and share and testify, and encourage. Totally Awesome! Imagine, we are told “… if two of you on earth agree (harmonize together, make a symphony together) about whatever [anything and everything] they may ask, it will come to pass and be done for them by My Father in heaven. For wherever two or three are gathered (drawn together as My followers) in (into) My name, there I AM in the midst of them” (Matthew 18v19&20, AMP). We thank God for His presence in our midst when we come together in fellowship.
Supplementary Text
“They all met together and were constantly united in prayer, along with Mary the mother of Jesus, several other women, and the brothers of Jesus.” Acts 1v14 (NLT).
“When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.” Acts 2v1 (NIV)
“And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. And all that believed were together, and had all things common; And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. And they, continually daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the people added to the church daily such as should be saved.” Acts 2v42-47 (KJV)
“Speak out to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, offering praises with voices [and instruments] and making melody with all your heart to the Lord,” Ephesians 5v19 (AMP)
“Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from His love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.” Philippians 1v1-2 (NLT)
Prayer
Father, we thank You for Your Word this day, and we thank You so much for the body of Christ and the fellowship we can have one with another. We pray that You will continue to bind us in love and keep us united in Jesus name, amen.
