Holy Spirit (3)

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. The Bible says:

Primary Text
“.... [It is these very] things which have now already been made known plainly to you by those who preached the good news (the Gospel) to you by the [same] Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Into these things [the very] angels long to look!” 1 Peter 1v12 (AMP)

I don’t know how many have heard this said – the Spirit of the Lord is one. Usually it is said when things match up, e.g. maybe the choir sings a song that goes perfectly in line with the exhortation. Amazingly, the same Spirit that worked in the prophets causing them to predict certain things, works in those who preached the gospel. It is the same Spirit which was in the Lord Jesus Christ, and the same Spirit which is in us, even now. 1 Samuel 16v13 (NCV) says “So Samuel took the container of olive oil and poured it on Jesse’s youngest son to appoint him in front of his brothers. From that day on, the Lord’s Spirit worked in David…” Judges 13v25 says “The Spirit of the Lord began to work in Samson while he was in the city of Mahaneh Dan…” and Judges 14v6 says “The Spirit of the Lord entered Samson with great power, and he tore the lion apart with his bare hands…” After the Holy Spirit fell on the day of Pentecost, “they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance” (Acts 2v4) and we see Peter beginning to preach, and afterwards, Acts 2v42 says “Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.” The Holy Spirit is our helper. It is through Him that we can be witnesses. He teaches us all things.

Supplementary Text
“If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good gifts [gifts that are to their advantage] to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask and continue to ask Him.” Luke 11v13 (AMP)

Father, I thank You for Your Spirit. Father, please fill me with Your Spirit, in Jesus name, amen.
