The Spirit of Christ (2)
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. The Bible says:
Primary Text
“Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, trying to find out the time and circumstances which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when He predicted the sufferings of the Messiah and the glories that would follow.” 1 Peter 1v10-11 (NIV)
One of the things the Holy Spirit does is that He reveals things to come to us. The prophets of old told of things to come through the Holy Spirit which was on the inside of them. Before Jesus left the earth, He told His disciples that “I have yet many things to say unto you, but you cannot bear them now. Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come. He shall glorify Me: for He shall receive of Mine, and shall shew it unto you.” (John 16v12-14, KJV). The things the disciples could not bear at that time, were later shown to them by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit does not speak of Himself, but what He hears He speaks. He guides us into all truth and shows us things to come. He also helps us to know the things which have been freely given to us (1 Corinthians 2v12). 1 John 2v27 tells us that “But the anointing which ye have received of Him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in Him.” (1 John 2v27). Indeed, without the Holy Spirit of God, one cannot claim to belong to Christ. We need the Holy Spirit everyday to live a victorious Christian life, to guide us, lead and teach us.
Supplementary Text
“But as it is written, EYE HATH NOT SEEN, NOR EAR HEARD, NEITHER HAVE ENTERED INTO THE HEART OF MAN, THE THINGS WHICH GOD HATH PREPARED FOR THEM THAT LOVE HIM. But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.” 1 Corinthians 2v9-10 (KJV)
Father, I thank You for the Holy Spirit. I ask for greater communion with Your Spirit in Jesus name, amen.
