Fixed on Him!
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“So brace up your minds; be sober (circumspect, morally alert); set your hope wholly and unchangeably on the grace (divine favor) that is coming to you when Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is revealed.” 1 Peter 1v13 (AMP)
We are encouraged to set our hope completely, unchangeably on the grace that is coming to us when Jesus Christ is revealed. We know that by grace we are saved through faith, and that not of ourselves, it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2v8). 1 John 5v13 says “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” You believe on the name of the Son of God, then you have eternal life. Hold onto the grace that will be revealed when Jesus comes again. Be unwavering and unchanging as you set your hope on this grace that will be revealed. 2 Peter 3-4 (NLT) says “Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.” Don’t be deceived by scoffers. Rather remember Hebrews 10v36-38 which says “For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and He that shall come will come, and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, My soul shall have no pleasure in him.” Keep your hope alive, and your affections set on things above (Colossians 3v2).
Supplementary Text
“But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.” Jude 17-21 (KJV)
Father, I thank You for grace that will be revealed at the coming of the Lord Jesus. I commit my Spirit into the hands of the One who is able to keep me from falling and to present me faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever, Amen.
