Holiness

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“But as the One Who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all your conduct and manner of living.” 1 Peter 1v15 (AMP)

Our God is holy, and He wants us to be holy. Ephesians 1v3 (AMP) says “Even as [in His love] He chose us [actually picked us out for Himself as His own] in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy (consecrated and set apart for Him) and blameless in His sight, even above reproach, before Him in love.” Jeremiah 2v3 says “Israel was holiness unto the LORD,…” The Spirit in us is Holy. 1 Peter 2v9 says we are a holy nation. Child of God, you are chosen, set apart, and consecrated unto the Lord. As God’s holy people then, we need also to be holy in our conduct, thoughts, actions, manner of living, and relationships with one another. How does this look like? Well, 1 Thessalonians 4v7 (NCV) says “God called us to be holy and does not want us to live in sin.” Colossians 3v12-13 (NIV) says “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” Let’s put on compassion, and kindness, and humility, and gentleness, and patience, and forgiveness, and thanksgiving, and praise, and joy… Let’s put on Christ, as Romans 13v14 (KJV) says “But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.”

Supplementary Text
“May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. May He strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all His holy ones.” 1 Thessalonians 3v12-13 (NIV)

Father we thank You, I pray that “… the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and through [separate you from profane things, make you pure and wholly consecrated to God]; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved sound and complete [and found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)” (1 Thessalonians 5v23, AMP) in Jesus name, amen.
