Be still and know that I am God

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. One verse of scripture that has come to mind of late is:

Primary Text
“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46v10 (KJV)

Decisions, family, children, in-laws, deadlines, bombings, kidnappings, wars, … so many things can happen in one day to make one feel perturbed, anxious, agitated and disconcerted. This verse is a reminder to stay calm, and know that God is God. But, I should have done things better you might say, it’s all my fault …. His Word remains unchanged – Be still and know that I am God. As the rest of the chapter shows (please see below), this verse is still very applicable to issues that happen outside of our own sphere of influence to world matters that affect us one way or the other. Whatever you are going through, whatever is happening around you, remember that the Lord of hosts is with you, the God of Jacob is your refuge!

Supplementary Text
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; He lifts His voice, the earth melts. The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Come and see what the LORD has done, the desolations He has brought on the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; He burns the shields with fire. He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The LORD Almighty is with us; the God is Jacob is our fortress.” Psalm 46v1-11 (NIV)

Prayer
Father, I thank You so very much for this day which You have made. I thank You because You are God, and You have said I should be still. And so God, I rest in You, and I refuse to be dismayed. I refuse to fear, because You are with me. Be glorified in all that I do this day and evermore in Jesus name, amen.
