The Word of God
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and
bubbling in the Lord. Happy Monday.
Primary Text
“And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in
blood: and His name is called The Word of God.” Revelation 19v13 (KJV)
Jesus is the Word of God! John 1v1 (AMP) says “In
the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with
God, and the Word was God Himself. He was present originally with God. All
things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not
even one thing made that has come into being. In Him was Life, and the Life was
the Light of men.” The Word of God is creative – declares the things that
should be and brings them to pass – and life giving. Hebrews 11v3 (KJV) saying
“Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so
that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” God’s Word
is alive and full of power. It separates the soul (mind, emotions and will)
from the spirit. The Word of God is sharper than any two-edged sword and is
called the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6v17). Through it we can fight against
the devil, saying “It is written…” The Word of God gives hope, comfort and joy.
God’s Word helps us to grow: “As newborn babies, desire the sincere milk of the
word, that ye may grow thereby:” (1 Peter 2v2, KJV). It also helps us not to
sin against God: “I have hidden Your word in my heart, that I might not sin
against you” (Psalm 119v11, NLT).
Supplementary Text
“For the Word that God speaks is alive and full
of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is
sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the
breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit], and of joints and marrow [of
the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and
judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.” Hebrews 4v12 (AMP)
Prayer
Our heavenly Father, we thank You for this day
which You have made. We bless Your holy name. We thank You for the month of
May, and we thank You for Your Word. We thank You because it is life-giving,
comforting, joy, gives wisdom and has power. Jesus we exalt You. We pray for a
deep desire to study and meditate on Your Word daily, for understanding as we
read it, and wisdom as to how to apply it in Jesus name, amen.
