That they may be one…

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“We are all parts of one body, we have the same Spirit, and we have all been called to the same glorious future. For us there is only one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and we all have the same God and Father who is over us all and in us all, and living through every part of us.” Ephesians 4v4-6 (TLB)

One prayer our Lord Jesus prayed before He went to the Cross was for believers to be one, as He and the Father were one, and that we may be one in Them. Jesus prayed as well that we may be one, He in us, and the Father in Him. One of the reasons for this was so that the world will believe that Jesus had been sent by the Father. Psalm 133v1 (KJV) says “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” True, we have different personalities, interests, likes, dislikes, but let our belief in the one Lord never be shaken. In Ephesians 4v1-3 (TLB) Paul makes the appeal “I beg you – I, a prisoner here in jail for serving the Lord – to live and act in a way worthy of those who have been chosen for such wonderful blessings as these. Be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Try always to be led along together by the Holy Spirit and so be at peace with one another.”

Supplementary Text
“Neither for these alone do I pray [it is not for their sake only that I make this request], but also for all those who will ever come to believe in (trust in, cling to, rely on) Me through their word and teaching, That they all may be one, [just] as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe and be convinced that You have sent Me. I have given to them the glory and honor which You have given Me, that they may be one [even] as We are one: I in them and You in Me, in order that they may become one and perfectly united, that the world may know and [definitely] recognize that You sent Me and that You have loved them [even] as You have loved Me.” John 17v20-23 (AMP)

Prayer
Father, we thank You for the glory and honor given to the Church. We pray that we will be united, and be one in Christ in Jesus name, amen.
