Don’t devour one another

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.” Galatians 5v13-15 (KJV)

We have been given the liberty to walk in love. What is love: “Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]; Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]….” 1 Corinthians 13v4-8 (AMP). Beloved, how are you measuring up on love? Remember that we have the ability to walk in love because God’s love has been shed abroad in our hearts by His Holy Spirit which He has given to us (Romans 5v5). The question is, are you allowing yourself to walk in love. On the other hand 2 Timothy 3v1-5 gives us some behavioral traits of people in the last days. But as believers, we should shine as light, and because of our love for one another, people should come to know that we are the Lord’s disciples.

Supplementary Text
“You may as well know this too, Timothy, that in the last days it is going to be very difficult to be a Christian. For people will love only themselves and their money; they will be proud and boastful, sneering at God, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful to them, and thoroughly bad. They will be hardheaded and never give in to others; they will be constant liars and troublemakers and will think nothing of immorality. They will be rough and cruel, and sneer at those who try to be good. They will betray their friends; they will be hotheaded, puffed up with pride, prefer good times to worshiping God. They will go to church, yes, but they won’t really believe anything they hear. Don’t be taken in by people like that.” 2 Timothy 3v1-5 (TLB)

Prayer
Father, we thank You for Your Word and Your love. We pray that we will indeed walk in love towards one another in Jesus name, amen.
