Patience of Hope
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“Remembering
without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in
our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;” 1 Thessalonians 1v3
(KJV)
As
believers, one of the greatest hopes that we have is that our Lord Jesus Christ
is coming back for His bride, the church. The Bible however warns us that in
the last days, there would be those who would scoff at this: “First, I want to
remind you that in the last days there will come scoffers who will do every
wrong they can think of and laugh at the truth. This will be their line of
argument: “So Jesus promised to come back, did He? Then where is He? He’ll
never come! Why, as far back as anyone can remember, everything has remained
exactly as it was since the first day of creation” (2 Peter 3v3-4, TLB). Yet,
the Word of God tells us later in that chapter that “But don’t forget this,
dear friends, that a day or a thousand years from now is like tomorrow to the
Lord. He isn’t really being slow about His promised return, even though it
sometimes seems that way. But He is waiting, for the good reason that He is not
willing that any should perish, and He is giving more time for sinners to
repent.” 2 Peter 3v8-9 (TLB). With this in mind, please be encouraged to
continue to keep the faith and endeavour to be found by Him without spot and
blameless.
Supplementary Text
“Dear
friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen and for Him to come,
try hard to live without sinning; and be at peace with everyone so that He will
be pleased with you when He returns.” 2 Peter 3v14 (TLB)
Prayer
Father
we thank You for Your Word. We thank You Jesus because You are coming back for
Your church. We pray for the grace to continue to wait patiently for You o
Lord. From Jude 1v24-25 we pray all this unto Him that is able to keep us from
falling, and to present us faultless before the presence of His glory with
exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion
and power, both now and ever, in Jesus name, amen.
