Faith’s work
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Happy new
month. I pray that the grace and peace of God the Father and our Lord Jesus
Christ will abound towards you in Jesus name, amen.
Primary Text
“Recalling
unceasingly before our God and Father your work energized by faith…” 1
Thessalonians 1v3 (AMP)
“As
we pray to our God and Father about you, we think of your faithful work,…” 1
Thessalonians 1v3 (NLT)
As
believers we are co-labourers with God … and there is a lot to be done in the
Kingdom. Luke 10v1-2 (TLB) says “The Lord now chose seventy other disciples and
sent them on ahead in pairs to all the towns and villages He planned to visit
later. These were His instructions to them: “Plead with the Lord of the harvest
to send out more laborers to help you, for the harvest is so plentiful and the
workers so few.” There are different types of things that can be done in the
Lord’s service, both within the body of Christ, and towards those who are yet
to be brought to the body. There are those who still need to hear the gospel
and also other functionings within the church to make it run smoothly. 1
Corinthians 12v4-7 (TLB) says “Now God gives us many kinds of special
abilities, but it is the same Holy Spirit who is the source of them all. There
are different kinds of service to God, but it is the same Lord we are serving.
There are many ways in which God works in our lives, but it is the same God who
does the work in and through all of us who are His. The Holy Spirit displays
God’s power through each of us as a means of helping the entire church.” Amen.
We thank God for each of the giftings and abilities that He has given to us. In
a sense, the work we do for the Lord is an expression of the faith that we have
in Him.
Supplementary Text
“So
also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back
it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead). But someone will
say [to you then], You [say you] have faith, and I have [good] works. Now you
show me your [alleged] faith apart from any [good] works [if you can], and I by
[good] works [of obedience] will show you my faith.” James 2v17-18 (AMP)
Prayer
Father,
I thank You for my faith in You and the good works which You before ordained
that I do. Father, please reveal to me the giftings and abilities You have
placed in me, show me the works You will have me do, help me to see the
opportunities to use them and the grace to do them to the glory of Your name in
Jesus name, amen.
