Yield to God

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Happy Monday!

Primary Text
“Do not let any part of your bodies become tools of wickedness, to be used for sinning; but give yourselves completely to God – every part of you – for you are back from death and you want to be tools in the hands of God, to be used for His good purposes.” Romans 6v13 (TLB)

As believers, we have a choice as to what we do with our bodies. When we gave our lives to Christ, we became new creatures (2 Corinthians 5v17). However, our spirits became born again while our bodies and souls (mind, emotion, will) were not changed. That’s why people do not look different when they become Christians. They do not grow taller, shorter, the mole on their face does not disappear. However, because of the working of the Spirit on the inside of them, they might begin to be more loving, joyful, faithful, their speech patterns may change and so on. But the fact remains that when we become Christians, we need to do something about our bodies, our minds, emotions and will. The text above shows that one can give his or her members over to sin, but we are encouraged instead to give ourselves completely to God. Beloved, do not allow your mouth, eyes, ears, heart, any part of you to become an instrument of sin. Instead, give yourself to God. Let Him be glorified through your members. For example, instead of using your mouth to gossip and back bite, you can use it to praise God. Ephesians 4v29 (TLB) saying “Don’t use bad language. Say only what is good and helpful to those you are talking to, and what will give them a blessing.”

Supplementary Text
“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1 Corinthians 6v20 (KJV)

Prayer
Our Father and our God, we thank You so much for Your Word this day. We thank You because we are Yours, and so we yield our spirits, souls and bodies to You. We consciously decide to glorify You with every member of our bodies. Help us o Lord. Thank You for the victory we have over sin. Holy Spirit of God have Your way in our lives this day. All this we pray in Jesus name, amen.
