Awesome God!
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“For
they themselves volunteer testimony concerning us, telling what an entrance we
had among you, and how you turned to God from [your] idols to serve a God Who
is alive and true and genuine,” 1 Thessalonians 1v9 (AMP)
We
serve a truly awesome God; a God who is alive and true and genuine. A God in
whom we can make our boast in. He has eyes, and He sees, ears and hears, He
feels, He speaks, He works wonders, He is a very present help in trouble, He is
accessible, and He is our Father. We can boast of our God who is our Comforter,
Helper, Advocate, Strengthener, Intercessor, Standby, Friend, and yet a mighty
Man of war, who can fight all our battles for us. A God who moves mountains,
who parts the sea, who brings water from the rock, who after all is the Creator
of heaven and earth, and because of Him, all things exist. How awesome is this.
This is the God whom we have chosen to follow. The Thessalonians turned away
from their idols to serve this living God. Psalm 135v15-18 (NIV) says “The
idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by human hands. They have
mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see. They have ears, but cannot
hear, nor is there breath in their mouths. Those who make them will be like
them, and so will all who trust in them.” Our God is worthy to be adored,
glorified and magnified, nothing and no one can compare with Him, and we give
Him all honour and adoration.
Supplementary Text
“After
the Philistines had captured the ark of God, they took it from Ebenezer to
Ashdod. Then they carried the ark into Dagon’s temple and set it beside Dagon.
When the people of Ashdod rose early the next day, there was Dagon, fallen on
his face on the ground before the ark of the LORD! They took Dagon and put him
back in his place. But the following morning when they rose, there was Dagon,
fallen on his face on the ground before the ark of the LORD! His head and hands
had been broken off and were lying on the threshold; only his body remained.” 1
Samuel 5v1-4 (NIV)
