Be a God pleaser

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“For we speak as messengers from God, trusted by Him to tell the truth; we change His message not one bit to suit the taste of those who hear it; for we serve God alone, ...” 1 Thess 2v4 (TLB)

“But just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the glad tidings (the Gospel), so we speak not to please men, but to please God, ...” 1 Thess 2v4 (AMP)

Often times, people begin to please/serve individuals, money, other gods e.t.c. However, as children of God, God is the One we should seek to please. We need to get to a point where we know who we are stewards of, who we are serving and making ourselves accountable to. But it is impossible to have two loyalties as seen in Luke 16v13 (TLB) “”For neither you nor anyone else can serve two masters. You will hate one and show loyalty to the other, or else the other way around – you will be enthusiastic about one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”” We see the example of the 3 Hebrew children who refused to bow to the image of the king, and were thrown in the hot fire, but God showed up for them. If their loyalties were divided, it might have been easier for them to succumb to the pressure to bow to an idol. Proverbs 29v26 (KJV) says “Many seek the ruler’s favour; but every man’s judgment cometh from the LORD.” Beloved, trust God, rely on Him, seek to please Him. People are limited in what they can give to you, regardless of how good intentioned they might be.

Supplementary Text
“It is better to trust and take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust and take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.” Psalm 118v8-9 (AMP)

Prayer

Father, I thank You for Your Word. I put my trust and confidence in You in Jesus name, amen.
