Have faith in God
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“For
not only has the Word concerning and from the Lord resounded forth from you
unmistakably in Macedonia and Achaia, but everywhere the report has gone forth
of your faith in God [of your leaning of your whole personality on Him in
complete trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness]. So we [find
that we] never need to tell people anything [further about it].” 1
Thessalonians 1v8 (AMP)
We
thank God because He is dependable and trustworthy. The question I will ask
today is that do you have faith in God. Do you believe Him regardless of what
you see, feel, think? It is interesting to follow the journey of the Israelites
and the way they related with God and their reactions in the face of trials and
tribulations. It is easy to think how could they complain, grumble, murmur and
easily forget all that God has done… but perhaps we too do the same. Are we
quick to forget how He drew us to Himself, redeemed us from sin, paid the price
for us and is even now preparing a place for us in heaven? Do we remember His
faithfulness through the years, that causes us to still be standing against all
odds? Of the children of Israel, after 10 of the 12 spies who had gone to
search the land God gave to them brought a bad report, it is said:
Supplementary Text
“You
were peevish and discontented in your tents, and said, Because the Lord hated
us, He brought us forth out of the land of Egypt to deliver us into the hand of
the Amorites to destroy us. To what are we going up? Our brethren have made our
hearts melt, saying, The people are bigger and taller than we are; the cities
are great and fortified to the heavens. And moreover we have seen the
[giantlike] sons of the Anakim there. Then I said to you, Dread not, neither be
afraid of them. The Lord your God Who goes before you. He will fight for you
just as He did for you in Egypt before your eyes. And in the wilderness, where
you have seen how the Lord your God bore you, as a man carries his son, in all
the way that you went until you came to this place. Yet in spite of this word you
did not believe (trust, rely on, and remain stedfast to) the Lord your God.”
Deuteronomy 1v27-32 (AMP).
Prayer
Father,
I pray for mercy for anyway I have been acting in unbelief, murmuring and
complaining. I keep my trust in You and rest in You now and always in Jesus
name, amen.
