Don’t Turn Back (1)

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Our God is faithful.

Primary Text: Psalm 78v9-11
“The children of Ephraim, being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle. They kept not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in His law; And forgat His works, and His wonders that He had shewed them.” Psalm 78v9-11 (KJV)

The children of Ephraim were armed for the battle, but they turned back. They had what it took to fight, but they turned back, they didn’t go through with it. How might this look like for us today? It could be no longer walking with the Lord, forgetting the years of the right hand of the Lord, for one reason or the other. Job was someone who faced intense affliction, sorrow, and challenges. He lost his wealth, his children, his health. Even his wife said “Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.” Job 2v9-10 (KJV). You may not understand the hardship and the afflictions you are going through. The challenge ahead may seem looming, and Egypt may seem like a far more comfortable place to be. Don’t go back. Don’t turn back. Hallelujah. Be encouraged.

Supplementary Text:
“For our light, momentary affliction (this slight distress of the passing hour) is ever more and more abundantly preparing and producing and achieving for us an everlasting weight of glory [beyond all measure, excessively surpassing all comparisons and all calculations, a vast and transcendent glory and blessedness never to cease!], Since we consider and look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting), but the things that are invisible are deathless and everlasting.” 2 Corinthians 4v17-18 (AMP).
