The Inheritance
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Our God is truly awesome.
Primary Text: Psalm 105v9-11
“Which covenant He made with Abraham, and His oath unto Isaac; And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant: Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:” Psalm 105v9-11 (KJV)
God gives us promises, and sometimes we are praying to Him for something, even in accordance to His will – healing, marriage, a job, children… In this passage, God had said He was giving them the land of Canaan. But as we know, there is usually a period of time between when the Word is spoken and when it is actualized. Sometimes, the inheritance or the promise we are looking up to God for is closer than we realize. Unfortunately, some turn back at the edge of their breakthrough, perhaps due to fear, unbelief, disobedience… a number of reasons. We see a situation where the Israelites were at the edge of their inheritance, but became faint hearted based on a report that 10 out of 12 spies brought. Beloved, please don’t turn back. God is with you. Have faith in Him!
Supplementary Text:
“They said to all the people of Israel, “The land we traveled through and explored is a wonderful land! And if the LORD is pleased with us, He will bring us safely into that land and give it to us. It is a rich land flowing with milk and honey. Do not rebel against the LORD, and don’t be afraid of the people of the land. They are only helpless prey to us! They have no protection, but the LORD Is with us! Don’t be afraid of them!” But the whole community began to talk about stoning Joshua and Caleb. Then the glorious presence of the LORD appeared to all the Israelites at the Tabernacle. And the LORD said to Moses, “How long will these people treat Me with contempt? Will they never believe Me, even after all the miraculous signs I have done among them?” Numbers 14v7-11 (NLT)
Prayer
Father, we thank You very much for the incredible inheritance we have in You. We love You, we trust You, we believe in You, in Jesus name, amen.
