Holiness (3)

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text: 2 Corinthians 7v1
“Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.” 2 Corinthians 7v1 (NIV)

We have great promises, we have the hope of salvation, we have our Lord preparing a place in heaven for us (John 14v2&3). Jesus gave up His life for the church, “to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word. He did this to present her to Himself as a glorious church without a sport or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault” (Ephesians 5v26-27, NLT). Indeed, 1 John 5v18 says “We know that God’s children do not make a practice of sinning, for God’s Son holds them securely, and the evil one cannot touch them” (1 John 5v18, NLT). Is there anything that keeps contaminating your body, or your spirit? Cleanse yourself from it. Avoid it. “Flee fornication…” (1 Corinthians 6v18, KJV). “Abstain from all appearance of evil.” (1 Thessalonians 5v22, KJV)

Supplementary Text:
“Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers [do not make mismatched alliances with them or come under a different yoke with them, inconsistent with your faith]. For what partnership have right living and right standing with God with iniquity and lawlessness? Or how can light have fellowship with darkness? What harmony can there be between Christ and Belial [the devil]? Or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? What agreement [can there be between] a temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God; even as God said, I will dwell in and with and among them and will walk in and with and among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. So, come out from among [unbelievers], and separate (sever) yourselves from them, says the Lord, and touch not [any] unclean thing; then I will receive you kindly and treat you with favor, And I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6v14-18 (AMP)

Prayer
Father, I thank You for Your Word. We pray o God of peace, that You will sanctify us wholly, and that our whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We thank You because You are Faithful that has called us, and You will also do it, in Jesus name, amen.
