God’s Promotion

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text: Psalm 105v20-22
“The king sent and loosed him, even the ruler of the peoples, and let him go free. He made Joseph lord of his house and ruler of all his substance, To bind his princes at his pleasure and teach his elders wisdom.” Psalm 105v20-22 (AMP)

It pays to wait for the Lord’s promotion. Today, for the love of money, or for an advancement, people may be tempted to compromise their faith. Remember promotion is of the Lord (Psalm 75v7). Daniel said he would not defile himself with the food and wine given to them by the king (Daniel 1v8), and Joseph ran away from the seduction of Potiphar’s wife, so he won’t sin against God (Genesis 39v9). Daniel also prayed and gave thanks to God as he usually did, irrespective of the decree “… that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall cast into the den of lions.” (Daniel 6v7). Later on however, they were promoted. The Bible reminds us that “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Mathew 16v26). Wait for the promotion of the Lord. Don’t give in to the temptation of getting things in ways that would not glorify God.

Supplementary Text:
“And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is? And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt. And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph’s hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck; And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.” Genesis 41v38-44 (KJV)

Prayer
