Holiness (2)

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We have been told to follow peace with all men and holiness, without which no man shall not see the Lord (Hebrews 12v14). So holiness is very essential for every person who wants to see the Lord. 1 Peter 1v14-17 says:

Primary Text: 1 Peter 1v14-17
[Live] as children of obedience [to God]; do not conform yourselves to the evil desires [that governed you] in your former ignorance [when you did not know the requirements of the Gospel]. But as the One Who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all your conduct and manner of living. For it is written, You shall be holy, for I am holy. And if you call upon Him as [your] Father Who judges each one impartially according to what He does, [then] you should conduct yourselves with true reverence throughout the time of your temporary residence [on the earth, whether long or short].” 1 Peter 1v14-17 (AMP)

Imagine if you had a home. There are certain things which you would permit or not permit there, and people who come to stay there, should very well respect your rules, if not, the next time, you may not permit them to be there. As believers, the wonderful thing is that we are no longer our own. We have been bought with a price, with the precious blood of Jesus. Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. We belong to God, and we ought to respect Him, and honor Him in all that we do. We call wrong what He calls wrong, and right, what He calls right. Before we became believers, we could not please God, for those that are in the flesh cannot please God (Romans 8v8). But now, “Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in its lusts thereof” (Romans 6v12). Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh (Galatians 5v16).

Supplementary Text:
“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1 Corinthians 6v19-20 (KJV)

Prayer
Father, I thank You for Your Word. I ask that Your Spirit take control of my spirit, my soul and my body in Jesus name, amen.
