Jesus, Our Example

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

“For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in His steps.” 1 Peter 2v21 (NLT)
What a perfect example we have in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He left us the example of doing good, yes, even in the face of suffering. Acts 10v38 (NIV) says “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how He went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with Him.” Jesus exemplified a life of obedience to God, doing good, and living in the power of the Holy Spirit. God is with us now, we also have the Spirit of Jesus, the Holy Spirit in us and dwelling with us (John 14v17). Acts 1v4-5 says “And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith He, ye have heard of Me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.” The Holy Spirit Jesus had said “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” (John 14v26). Jesus our example, started His ministry, after the Holy Spirit descended upon Him as a dove, when He was baptized (Luke 3v21-23). As children of God, we now have the Holy Spirit of God. May we seek to be and be continually filled with the Spirit of God and be empowered to do good in Jesus name, amen.

“Then Jesus, full of and controlled by the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led in [by] the [Holy] Spirit.” Luke 4v1 (AMP) Father, we thank You for the Spirit of Christ that is in us and with us.
Father, we are praying for a fresh outpouring of Your Spirit upon us. We want to be led by, led in, and controlled by Your Spirit in the name of Jesus. We put to death even the deeds of the flesh by the Spirit and say Holy Spirit of God, take full control of our lives in Jesus name, amen.
