“Freedom”

Hello everyone, How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Primary Text “Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; ....” 1 Peter 2v16 (NIV) “[Live] as free people, [yet] without employing your freedom as a pretext for wickedness; …” 1 Peter 2v16 (AMP) Galatians 5v1 (NLT) says “[Freedom in Christ] So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.” And 2 Corinthians 3v17 says “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” Amen. And the Spirit of the Lord dwells with us and is in us. As believers, we are free in Christ. However, we are being encouraged that we should not use our freedom as a cover-up for evil. Don’t in the name of the liberty that has been given unto us engage in evil deeds. As Galatians 5v13 (AMP) says “For you, brethren, were [indeed] called to freedom; only [do not let your] freedom be an incentive to your flesh and an opportunity or excuse [for selfishness], but through love you should serve one another.” We are free, but let us not use our freedom as an occasion to serve the flesh, instead to love one another. Again 1 Corinthians 6v12 (AMP) says “Everything is permissible (allowable and lawful) for me; but not all things are helpful (good for me to do, expedient and profitable when considered with other things). Everything is lawful for me, but I will not become the slave of anything or be brought under its power.” Amen. Supplementary Text “[What is True Freedom?] So, since we’re out from under the old tyranny, does that mean we can live any old way we want? Since we’re free in the freedom of God, can we do anything that comes to mind? Hardly/ You know well enough from your own experience that there are some acts of so-called freedom that destroy freedom. Offer yourselves to sin, for instance, and it’s your last free act. But offer yourselves to the ways of God and the freedom never quits. All your lives you’ve let sin tell you what to do. But thank God you’ve started listening to a new master, one whose commands set you free to live openly in His freedom!” Romans 6v15-18 (The Message). Father, I thank You for Your Word this day. Father in anyway I have in the name of freedom engaged in sin, forgive me, have mercy on me. Grant me the grace to serve others in love in Jesus name, amen. www.beeencouraged.blogspot.com
