Our Conduct

Hello everyone, How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Primary Text “Conduct yourselves properly (honorably, righteously) among the Gentiles, so that, although they may slander you as evildoers, [yet] they may by witnessing your good deeds [come to] glorify God in the day of inspection [when God shall look upon you wanderers as a pastor or shepherd looks over his flock].” 2 Peter 2v12 (AMP) “People who do not believe are living all around you and might say that you are doing wrong. Live such good lives that they will see the good things you do and give glory to God on the day when Christ comes again.” 2 Peter 2v12 (NCV). Amen. Here we are being told about our conduct and how we should live our lives. How? Live good lives among the Gentiles, among the unbelieving. Now, the Bible here tells us that they may be calling you an evil doer, but let your conduct speak for you, so much so that through your good deeds, they may glorify God on the day Christ comes again. We are the light in this world, and the salt of the earth. Matthew 5v13-16 (NCV) says “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its salty taste, it cannot be made salty again. It is good for nothing, except to be thrown out and walked on. “You are the light that gives light to the world. A city that is built on a hill cannot be hidden. And people don’t hide a light under a bowl. They put it on a lampstand so the light shines for all the people in the house. In the same way, you should be a light for other people. Live so that they will see the good things you do and will praise your Father in heaven.” We thank God indeed for the Holy Spirit in us, for included in the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5v22-23). A dose of this fruit in the world would bring a whole lot of good. Hallelujah. Supplementary Text “Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. For “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech. They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.” 1 Peter 3v8-11 (NIV) Father, I thank You so much for Your Word. Father, help me indeed to be a light in this world, and bring glory to You in Jesus name, amen.
