Submitting to Authority (2)

Hello everyone-- How are you? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His goodness, His faithfulness, and His love. The Bible tells us that: Primary Text “Be submissive to every human institution and authority for the sake of the Lord, whether it be to the emperor as supreme, Or to governors as sent by Him to bring vengeance (punishment, justice) to those who do wrong and to encourage those who do good service.” 1 Peter 2v13-14 (AMP) Now, not many of us can claim to know the rulers of our nations. We may read about them in newspapers, might have voted for them, or watch them on the television, but we might not be able to claim actual acquaintance with them. Notwithstanding, the rules and regulations that they make do affect us, and God would have us submit to every human institution and authority for the Lord’s sake. One thing we can do for our leaders, is to pray for them. 1 Timothy 2v1-4 (AMP) says “FIRST OF all, then, I admonish and urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all men, For kings and all who are in positions of authority or high responsibility, that [outwardly] we may pass a quiet and undisturbed life [and inwardly] a peaceable one in all godliness and reverence and seriousness in every way. For such [praying] is good and right, and [it is] pleasing and acceptable to God our Savior, Who wishes all men to be saved and [increasingly] to perceive and recognize and discern and know precisely and correctly the [divine] Truth.” Let’s continually remember our leaders in prayer. Supplementary Text “And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray into the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.” Jeremiah 29v7 (KJV) Father, we thank You for Your Word this day. Thank You for You are the Alpha and the Omega, the Lord of heaven and earth, the King of kings and the Lord of lords, the Most High God. Father, we lift up our rulers, governors, presidents and all those in high authority to You. Father, we thank You for preserving them thus far and ask that You grant them wisdom, grace, and the fear of God. Please help them to rule aright and give them godly counselors in Jesus name, amen.
