Don’t Give Up!!!
Hello everyone---
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His mercies, His love, for the little things that just make each day brighter. For instance friends, family, loved ones, a particular song, movie, testimony, phone call. We just give God glory for loving us, and satisfying our mouths with good things so much that our youth is renewed like the eagle (Psalm 103v5). We thank God for Jesus, who is our perfect example, of being without sin, without guile or deceit, who:
Primary Text “When He was reviled and insulted, He did not revile or offer insult in return; [when] He was abused and suffered, He made no threats [of vengeance]; but He trusted [Himself and everything] to Him Who judges fairly.” 1 Peter 2v23 (AMP)
As we go through life, the good and the bad, the awesome and the not so cool, we can always bear in mind others who have run this race before us - enduring hardship, persecutions and trials without giving up. 1 Corinthians 10v11 (KJV) tells us that “Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.” So, we can look at Jesus and say, how did He handle situations? What was His life like? What was the end result? What about Abraham, Joseph, Ruth, Gideon, David, Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego? Hebrews 12v1-3 (MSG) says “Do you see what this means – all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running – and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how He did it. Because He never lost sight of where He was headed – that exhilarating finish in and with God – He could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now He’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility He plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!” We can draw our strength from Him, knowing He understands and can give us the grace to go through it.
Supplementary Text “But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12v9-10 (NIV)
Father, I thank You for Your Word. Please grant me grace for the journey ahead in Jesus name, amen.
