Jesus, Our Example (3)

Hello everyone, How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Primary Text “For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in His steps. He never sinned, nor ever deceived anyone.” 1 Peter 2v21-22 (NLT) Jesus is our wonderful example. He never sinned. None of us can claim not to have sinned, Romans 6v23-24 (NLT) telling us “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when He freed us from the penalty for our sins.” Praise God for this. However, now that we have become born again, 1 John 2v1-3 (AMP) says “My little children, I write you these things so that you may not violate God’s law and sin. But if anyone should sin, we have an Advocate (One Who will intercede for us) with the Father—[it is] Jesus Christ [the all] righteous [upright, just, Who conforms to the Father’s will in every purpose, thought, and action]. And He [that same Jesus Himself] is the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins, and not for ours alone but also for [the sins of] the whole world. And this is how we may discern [daily, by experience] that we are coming to know Him [to perceive, recognize, understand, and become better acquainted with Him]: if we keep (bear in mind, observe, practice) His teachings (precepts, commandments).” 1 John 2v1-3 (AMP). It is important to increase in our knowledge and fellowship of our Lord, through studying, meditation and acting on His Word (James 1v22). Psalm 119v11 (KJV) saying “Thy Word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against Thee.” It’s easier to not offend a person, if you know what it is that you will do that will get them upset. One way to know what God likes and doesn’t, is through His Word. Also, the Holy Spirit gives us the empowerment to be able to put to death the deeds of the flesh. Supplementary Text “Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do. For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.” Romans 8v12-14 (NLT) Father, we thank You for the Spirit of Christ that is in us and with us. Father, we are praying for a fresh outpouring of Your Spirit upon us. We want to be led by, led in, and controlled by Your Spirit in the name of Jesus. We put to death even the deeds of the flesh by the Spirit and say Holy Spirit of God, take full control of our lives in Jesus name, amen.
