Good Suffering

Hello everyone, How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Primary Text “Of course, you get no credit for being patient if you are beaten for doing wrong. But if you suffer for doing good and endure it patiently, God is pleased with you. For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in His steps.” 1 Peter 2v20-21 (NLT) “[After all] what kind of glory [is there in it] if, when you do wrong and are punished for it, you take it patiently? But if you bear patiently with suffering [which results] when you do right and that is undeserved, it is acceptable and pleasing to God. For even to this were you called [it is inseparable from your vocation]. For Christ also suffered for you, leaving you [His personal] example, so that you should follow in His footsteps.” 1 Peter 2v20-21 (AMP) What a calling? The Bible is basically telling us here that suffering because you do right is inseparable to our calling. But as human beings our natural reaction when we are hurt somewhere or rejected or face difficulties is to be sad, low, or want to retaliate. But the Bible tells us to follow in the example of Jesus. We do good when we refuse to cheat, when we follow God’s commands, give, submit to our husbands, love our wives. We do good when we preach the gospel, give to the poor, stand up for what is right. It could be tough, but remember that Jesus understands what you are going through and He can help you through it. Supplementary Text “For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand and sympathize and have a shared feeling with our weaknesses and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but One Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sinning. Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God’s unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].” Hebrews 4v15-16 (AMP) Why don’t you go to the Lord in prayer for whatever need you might be facing?
