Laborers with and for God
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God
for His goodness, His faithfulness, lovingkindness and tendermercies. He truly
is our Rock.
Primary Text
“For
we are fellow workmen (joint promoters, laborers together) with and for God; …”
1 Corinthians 3v9 (AMP)
As
believers, we work with and for God. I am reminded of these verses: “All this
is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the
ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to Himself in
Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And He has committed to us the
message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God
were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be
reconciled to God. God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him
we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5v18-21 (NIV). So we
work with God, in the work He is doing. However, we also recognize His as the
Lord, and the Master. We work for Him, not going about doing our own thing or
establishing our own gospel. Acts 13v2 (AMP) for instance says “While they were
worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, Separate now for Me Barnabas
and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” What work is the Lord
calling you unto today?
Supplementary Text
“Now
God has us where He wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to
shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. Saving is all His idea, and
all His work. All we do is trust Him enough to let Him do it. It’s God’s gift
from start to finish! We don’t play the major role. If we did, we’d probably go
around bragging that we’d done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save
ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ
Jesus to join Him in the work He does, the good work He has gotten ready for us
to do, work we had better be doing.” Ephesians 2v7-10 (MSG)
Prayer
Father
God, we thank You for You are good and Your mercy endures forever. We thank You
for You are working in us, giving us the desire and the power to do what
pleases You in Jesus name, amen.
