The Mind of the LORD (2)

“For who has known or understood the mind (the counsels and purposes) of the Lord so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge? ...” 1 Corinthians 2v16 (AMP)

“For, “Who can know the LORD’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach Him?” …” 1 Corinthians 2v16 (NLT)

Isaiah 55v8-9 (KJV) is a great reminder of how different from our thoughts, the Almighty’s thoughts are. The verses say “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Our God cannot be put into a box. We do not know enough to give Him counsel or to teach Him. Isaiah 40v13-14 (KJV) say “Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being His counsellor hath taught Him? With whom took He counsel and who instructed Him, and taught Him in the path of judgment, and taught Him knowledge, and shewed to Him the way of understanding?” If you agree that God is indeed so much wiser than we could ever hope to be, then we should seek wisdom from Him. Proverbs 2v6-7 (KJV) tell us “For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of His mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: He is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.” Moreover James 1v5 (KJV) says “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we thank You for who You are. We bless Your holy name. Father Your Word tells us that You guide the meek in judgment and teach them Your way. Please help us to be meek. Your Word says that those who fear You, You will teach in the way that You shall choose, their soul shall dwell at ease, their seed shall inherit the earth, Your secret is with them, and You will show them Your covenant. Please grant unto us the Spirit of the fear of the Lord in the mighty name of Jesus. We bless Your holy name King of glory, in Jesus name we pray, amen.
