The Spiritual Man

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His goodness, His faithfulness, lovingkindness and tendermercies. Indeed this is the day that He has made and we shall rejoice and be glad in it. The Bible tells us that:

Primary Text
“The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments,” 1 Corinthians 2v15 (NIV)

“But the spiritual man tries all things [he examines, investigates, inquires into, questions, and discerns all things], yet is himself to be put on trial and judged by no one [he can read the meaning of everything, but no one can properly discern or appraise or get an insight into him].” 1 Corinthians 2v15 (AMP)

This verse gives two characteristics of a spiritual man – the first being that he tries all things. The spiritual man does not take things as given, but examines, investigates, inquires into, questions and discerns all things. Why do you think this is? Perhaps the Spirit of God in him/her gives the wisdom and counsel to subject everything to – what does God think about this? What does the Word say about this? Proverbs 28v5 (AMP) for example says “Evil men do not understand justice, but they who crave and seek the Lord understand it fully” and Job 32v8 (AMP) tells us “But there is [a vital force] a spirit [of intelligence] in man, and the breath of the Almighty gives men understanding.”

Supplementary Text
“And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him – the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord  - And shall make Him of quick understanding, and His delight shall be in the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord. And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, neither decide by the hearing of His ears; But with righteousness and justice shall He judge the poor and decide with fairness for the meek, the poor, and the downtrodden of the earth; and He shall smite the earth and the oppressor with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.” Isaiah 11v2-4 (AMP)

Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You so much for Your Word. We thank You for all that You are to us. Father we pray that the Spirit of the Lord will be upon us, we pray for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of the fear of the Lord, that we would not judge based on appearance nor make a decision based on hearsay. May we give justice to the poor and make fair decisions for the exploited. This we pray in Jesus name, amen.
