The Holy Spirit and the spirit of this world

 Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His goodness, His faithfulness, and for the Spirit of the living God. However, there is also the spirit of this world, even as we see in 1 Corinthians 2v12:

“Now we have not received the spirit [that belongs to] the world, …” 1 Corinthians 2v12 (AMP)

Ephesians 2v1-2 (NLT) tells us “Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil – the commander of the powers of the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God.” Beloved, once we were like the rest of the world – “… obedient to and under the control of] the [demon] spirit that still constantly works in the sons of disobedience [the careless, the rebellious, and the unbelieving, who go against the purposes of God]” (Ephesians 2v2, AMP). We thank God though because when we became born again, the spirit we received was not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit of God. Galatians 5v19-23 (KJV) tell us “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” We thank God for the Spirit that we have in us is greater than that of the world.

“But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world. Those people belong to this world, so they speak from the world’s viewpoint, and the world listens to them. But we belong to God, and those who know God listens to us. If they do not belong to God, they do not listen to us. That is how we know if someone has the Spirit of truth or the spirit of deception.” 1 John 4v4-6 (NLT)

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your Word, and we thank You so much for Your Spirit that is with us and in us. Thank You for the salvation of our souls. We pray Lord of the harvest for those who do not know You, that You will send laborers to them in Jesus name we pray, amen.
