ONE

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for the body of Christ of which we are members.

Primary Text
“Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: …” 1 Corinthians 3v8 (KJV)
“The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, …” 1 Corinthians 3v8 (NIV)
“The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. …” 1 Corinthians 3v8 (NLT)
“He who plants and he who waters are equal (one in aim, of the same importance and esteem),…” 1 Corinthians 3v8 (AMP)

The Apostle Paul continues his letter to the church in Corinth, and using the illustration of planting and watering to signify work done for the Lord says, the one who plants and the one who waters have the same purpose. Many of us might have heard a song that said – though we are many, we are one body, we are one body in Christ. Romans 12v4 (NIV) explains that “For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” And so regardless of the part of the body that we are – eyes, nose, mouth, hands, joints, bones, feet – we are all important, and we are all one. “[There is] one body and one Spirit – just as there is also one hope [that belongs] to the calling you received – [There is] one Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of [us] all, Who is above all [Sovereign over all], pervading all and [living] in [us] all.” Ephesians 4v4-6 (AMP)

Supplementary Text
“Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from His love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose. Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.” Philippians 2v1-4 (NLT)

Prayer
Father, we thank You for Your Word. We thank You for the body of Christ, and pray that there will be unity among us and deep appreciation for one another in Jesus name, amen.
