The Spiritual Man (2)
Hello everyone,
How are you
doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God because He
reigns and He is in control.
Primary Text
“But the
spiritual man tries all things [he examines, investigates, inquires into,
questions, and discerns all things], yet is himself to be put on trial and
judged by no one [he can read the meaning of everything, but no one can
properly discern or appraise or get an insight into him].” 1 Corinthians 2v15 (AMP)
“Spiritually alive, we have access to
everything God’s Spirit is doing, and can’t be judged by unspiritual critics.”
1 Corinthians 2v15 (MSG)
This verse gives
yet another insight to something about the spiritual man, which is that though
he judges all things, he himself is judged of no man. Acts 4v18-20 (KJV) gives
the account of Peter and John and their response to the council who “commanded
them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John
answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken
unto you more than unto God, judge ye. For we cannot but speak the things which
we have seen and heard.” People might not be able to properly
discern or appraise or get an insight into a spiritual man – why he does what
he does, says what he says - but he has insight into what the Spirit is doing.
Supplementary Text
“They arrived
again in Jerusalem, and while Jesus was walking in the temple courts, the chief
priests, the teachers of the law and the elders came to Him. “By what authority
are You doing these things? they asked. “And who gave You the authority to do
this?” Jesus replied, “I will ask you one question. Answer Me, and I will tell
you by what authority I am doing these things. John’s baptism – was it from
heaven, or of human origin? Tell Me!” They discussed it among themselves and
said, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He will ask, ‘Then why didn’t you believe Him?’
But if we say, ‘Of human origin’…” (They feared the people, for everyone held
that John really was a prophet.) So they answered Jesus. “We don’t know.” Jesus
said, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.””
Mark 11v28-33 (NIV)
Prayer
Father, we thank
You for Your goodness and Your grace. Thank You for Your Spirit, and thank You
for leading us by Your Spirit. May we always seek Your approval and not that of
man in Jesus name, amen.
