God’s Garden
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“For
we are fellow workmen (joint promoters, laborers together) with and for God;
you are God’s garden and vineyard and field under cultivation, [you are] God’s building.”
1 Corinthians 3v9 (AMP)
Paul
here was telling the Corinthians that they were God’s garden and vineyard and
field, and building. Basically something God was working on, and the ministers
including Paul were co-workers with God. In Philippians 2v12-13 (NLT) Paul
encourages the church in Philippi saying “Dear friends, you always followed my
instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more
important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with
deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and
the power to do what pleases Him.” In John 15v1-2, 4-7 (NIV) we see a more
explicit picture of being God’s garden where He says ““I am the true vine, and
My Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in Me that bears no fruit,
while every branch that does bear fruit He prunes so that it will be even more
fruitful…. Remain in Me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by
itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you
remain in Me. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I
in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing. If you do
not remain in Me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such
branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in Me
and My words remain in you, ask whaetever you wish, and it will be done for
you.”
Supplementary Text
“For
we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus,
[born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestinated (planned
beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we
should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready
for us to live].” Ephesians 2v10 (AMP)
Prayer
Father,
we thank You for Your Word. We thank You for You are working in us, giving us
the desire and the power to do what pleases You in Jesus name, amen.
